One thing for sure there is alot of smoke in the air. Going to Shiner to see what all the smoke signals mean. Last night all I could see and hear from the EAST was smoke and dogs howling.

Driftwood, if your serious about coming to Shiner, I invite you to pregame warmups at Howards then to join festivities on the home side. I wish 7:30 would hurry up and get hear. The drums are now louder than the voices in my head.

New Post flatonia vs shiner
If I recall Shiner was rated #1 when they visited Falls City last year. I guess we can yell for the underdogs. No pun intended. GO BULLDOGS!! Wouldn't it be great if Shiner lost 7-0 again this year. We'll be in contact and stay updated throughout the game.

New Post A few stats from the game
Shiner Comanches

39 carries for 469 yards rushing
1 of 3 completions for 74 yards passing

I'm not sure what the final totals were for our backs but.....
Baer had 3 T.D. runs for 133 yards and Knzley Wright had 2 T.D. runs for 87 yards. A total of 220 yards and 5 T.D.'s on 5 carries. AWESOME!

Flatonia Bulldogs

33 carries for 110 yards rushing
6 of 20 completions for 76 yards passing
Flatonia QB threw 3 interceptions!

AWESOME game Shiner. For you Seniors, what a nice way to end your last game at Comanche Stadium. Congratulations!
We are very proud of all of you!

New Post FlatoniaAggie
FlatoniaAggie.....thanks for coming over at halftime. It was nice to actually meet someone from this message board in person. I told Big C Fan and Tomahawk Chop that you came over and they were sorry to miss you. Tomahawk did say he'd buy you a beer at Howards after the game though. I know we enjoyed the game more than you did though.....I wonder were kidluke was??? He was probably the one over behind the concession stand at halftime buying all that Comanche gear!

New Post Re: FlatoniaAggie
FlatoniaAggie, sorry I missed you. I was out and about on PR rounds during halftime. Shinerfan was right, I had a cold one waiting for you. Look me up next time you are this way and I will pay up. We saw a hard fought game tonight but Shiner had the numbers.
ComancheFan, your story on this thread about the Comanche moon was so true. The game was very close and Flatonia even had the lead for a while. Then, as the moon appeared over the visitor stands, the momentum changed in Shiner's favor. THAT will make you believe.

Thanks to the Flatonia Bulldogs and fans. THis thread has been a lot of fun with all the smack talk and all. You were good sports and have reason to be proud of your team. Good luck in the playoffs.

New Post Re: FlatoniaAggie
Also wanted to add that I spoke with a couple of Windthorst people at our game. One guy graduated last year and the other a couple years ago. Sorry guys, I don't remember your name but one says he posts on here but would not divulge his identity. They are going to Texas A&M and drove to Shiner to see the game. Glad you decided to sit on the Shiner side. We were glad to have you and hope you come back.
But as you two guys are reading this there has been a spell placed on you making you forget any plays you saw Shiner doing. We wouldn't want any of our secrets to get back to the Mighty Trojans. We would rather show them ourselves. Thanks for coming and come back to Shiner anytime.

I just knew it. We should have taken them out after the game and forced some "Shiner Hospitality" on them anyway. That way they wouldn't have remembered tomorrow. Beware, you WILL have a good time with us after the game next time.

New Post Re: Two Words
Congrats to Shiner. They have the best team in the state. I felt the dogs played hard and actually had a chance to be in this ballgame but the cards did not fall their way. Reason is because Shiner is very, very , very good! Both teams played hard and it was a very physical game. Shiner deserved to win the game and their fans should be happy. Baer is the best defensive player in the state and Boedekker is the 2nd best, hell might as well put Mccorkel in the mix also. i am glad that both teams came out injury free ( wish the best for Boedeker).
Flatonia will regroup and make a run to play the mighty Injuns again. I would have to say it was a great atmosphere tonight at Shiner. C Ya

New Post Re: TOO MUCH FUN!
Woke up early this morning and just couldn't resist checking the longest Message Board topic in history!

FlatoniaAggie: nice ta meet cha ... thanks for making this week lots of fun ... could hardly wait to see what SMACK YOU WERE TALKIN every day. Very glad that you came over to say "hi" in person. You're welcome on the "Shiner side" anytime as the post season begins (for both teams, I bet)! ;)

kidluke: Thanks for the kind words about our players. Y'all have been good sports and a fine friendly rivalry this week. It's fun to TALK SMACK without being mean-spirited or bitter. We wish the Bulldogs well in the playoffs and hope to meet up with them again in the Quarters! 8)

Bulldogs: You guys are a fine football team and we wish you the best against Falls City and on into the playoffs. Do us the favor of pounding some of your opponents so we don't have to! Y'all have nothing to be down about ... just get back to work this week and git 'r done, boys. There's no reason why you can't go deep and represent 31-1A well. :D

To All You Shiner Fans: HOW 'BOUT THEM COMANCHES?!?!?
This year's team is the real deal, ain't it? What fun to see them pull together and get the big win this week! Thanks to every one of you for joining the board and serving up a CUP 'O SMACK for all to enjoy. :rollin :lol

To the FC Beavers: Congratulations on a solid win last night ... good luck to y'all next week against Flatonia. If your defense plays tough like you did in Shiner, you guys have a chance to affect the 31-1A playoff picture. Keep working hard, young Beavers ... you will win some football games in the future.

Beaver Fever: thanks for editing ... ;)

New Post Re: Smoke signals
I thought all that smoke coming from Shiner last night was from the fans cooking hamburgers after the first quarter. 9-3 Then I heard someone in the stands say they just tick the boys off. After that I saw the Comanches score 40 straight points. That running game looked pretty stout. Good game Flat-town yall have a great team. Shiner was just to strong.

New Post V-I-C-T-O-R-Y...That's the Comanche Battle Cry
CONGRATS...TO ALL THE COMANCHE PLAYERS...ESPECIALLY TO THE SENIORS!!! What a way to end your final game on Comanche Field...You boys make us all so proud...I saw such determination and dedication ....and I saw our younger players step up and really work tonight!! YOU GUYS LOOKED LIKE A STATE TEAM!!! Flatonia looked pretty good in the beginning and had me sweating a little bit....was talking to my son about it...and he said " Nah, we just needed them to score to make us mad, and once they did...we weren't letting them score again!" Keep on working boys...7 more weeks til the BIG ONE!! You younger boys that didn't actually play in the State Game, but were standing proudly on the sideline...this is your time...work hard and let's bring home the GOLD!!...Oh, we still have to finish district...I'm thinking very positively.
