The good part about all these post is that there are very few negative posts. We are all having alot of fun and keeping most of the posts clean. The posts about last years actions we not appropriate but that is the way it goes. I agree this has to be a record for the number of posts.

Oooooo ... I am detecting too much "friendly" in the rivalry. If somebody doesn't step up the SMACK LEVEL, we'll never make it to 200 posts. All this sugar is makin' me feel yucky.

Hmm ... let me think ...

How about this recent photo of the Flatonia mascot ...

Not looking too fierce ... that should get a response from SOMEBODY.

Here I am, Kidluke.I been busy taking to some bulldog fans at work ,I can't seem to get this one person to put a friendly bet on the line. All though I have got one so far, but I had to give 14 points for the bet.To bad we don't work together ,maybe I could find one bulldog fan that would bet heads up.Does'nt seem like their are to many brave bulldogs up for that kind of bet. Anyway we are getting closer to Friday.I've been waiting to see what the Victoria advocate will have to say about this big game, I guess they will have a article tomorrow.

This is definately addicting. I just registered this week...but I've been reading these posts for a while. Just thought that I'd get in on the action. Kidluke...you're a great sport. FlatoniaAggie...you just make it more fun. No hard feelings among any of us fans. Let's let the COMANCHE MEN and BULL PUPPIES handle it on the field on Friday!! There ain't nothin' wrong with FRIENDLY rivalry and posting. Comanche Fan...it ain't all gotta be ugly! We could make 200 just on these kinds of posts...and then we still have Friday to talk about after it rolls around!

New Post Game of the Week
I hope there is an article in the Advocate tomorrow. I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I think this should have been Fox Southwests D.Q. Big Game of the Week. They sure don't do much coverage around here. I don't know who they have on this week but I think we would have gotten a few votes. They probably didn't want to see all those Bullpuppies upset on T.V.

New Post the significance of 73
Hey bigmacmom...

Actually...the number 73 has a lot of significance...Shiner's #73 is hott..and a great football player as well. He is great on defense...and I see him going far with it in the future. Something tells me you know exactly who I'm talking about! If possible...tell him I said "What's up!"

This is gonna be a great game! Shiner's gonna whoop up on them PUPPIES! Everyone is right...this game should be televised...and DESERVES a lot of press.

Peace out...see y'all Friday at the game! Can't wait to watch that defense!!! ;)

Sometimes it can be more difficult to identify a
person far away from our fair city than those clos
er in proximity. Oddly, I noticed that here in Ameri
ca, ka ngaroos jump higher, especially when he
is wet and has been coated by soil, whether
clay ton's or only a few pounds. If I may ask,
girlfriend, what is your favorite fast food sandwich?
I wonder what that means ...

New Post Last time Flatonia beat Shiner
Correct me if I'm wrong.....I looked through all the Shiner yearbooks, back to 1996, and these are the scores I found....

1996 - Flatonia 18 Shiner 6
1997 - Shiner 24 Flatonia 20
1998 - Shiner 54 Flatonia 0
1999 - Shiner 58 Flatonia 7
2000 - Shiner 54 Flatonia 14
2001 - Shiner Flatonia (did not play each other)
2002 - Shiner 23 Flatonia 22
2003 - Shiner 34 Flatonia 8
2004 - Shiner ?? Flatonia ?

I do see a trend here!!!!!!!

Comanche Stadium

According to the Shiner Gazette's website archives, in 1998, a crowd of 61,843 were in attendance at Comanche Stadium to watch Shiner defeat Flatonia 54-0. Texas State Police and the Texas National Guard were on hand for crowd control, but Bulldog fans began leaving early, so there were no incidents.

The US Navy Blue Angels provided the flyover during opening ceremonies and Grammy Award winner Peabo Bryson sang the national anthem. Halftime performances by Aerosmith, George Strait, and the Fightin' Comanche Marching Band were enjoyed by all.

Looks like tomorrow night will be another big one ...

I don't remember the estimated numbers but one of the largest crowds I ever remember at Comanche Stadium was in 1986 when Shiner(ranked in the top 3 in 2a) defeated Van Vleck(which was ranked in 3a at the time). Shiner sqeaked by 51-0. Both stands were packed, the hillside was full and people standing around the fence. Just might be that way tomorrow night.

Tonight in Flatonia...........

Shiner 7th grade 12 Flatonia 7th grade 14

Shiner 8th grade 14 Flatonia 8th grade 12

Flatonia's 7th grade scored on a 90 yard T.D. with less than 30 seconds left in the game.
Shiner's 8th grade played an awesome game. Flatonia had the whole coaching staff on the field for the 8th grade game. I guess you have to try everything when playing Shiner. By the way.........These scores in no way will reflect tomorrow nights game. Shiner will be victorious in a big way! Party on the 50 yard line after the game. All you parents be ready......Victory lines at the start of the game and at half time. Let's cheer these boys to victory!

Hey Kidluke and FlatoniaAggie.......ya'll are welcome to join in the Comanche Victory line at halftime. If you stand between each of us in line that maroon might look kind of purple. If you don't want to stand in the victory line, wait till the boys go out on the field and we can chat a bit. By halftime, though, you'll probably want to be in our line!!!!!!!!!!

Heard the students in school are fired up about this game as much as the adults are. I can't wait for the pep rally! Should be a good one with a packed house!

Comanches are powerful, they dominate, and they are winners! Bulldogs are- well, are just dogs. They can run, but they can't hide. :lol

Good Luck to both teams. Hope the game is injury free and to those that travel to and from, have a safe trip. We'll see you at Comanche Stadium!

New Post Re: Flatonia @ Shiner WX update late Thursday night
Latest wx update from NWS/San Antonio:

Friday: A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Partly cloudy, with a high around 89. South wind between 5 and 15 mph.

Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. South southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Everyone knows that 20%=no rain, so it should be a great night for football at cavernous Comanche Stadium!

Okay Tomahawk Chop do you know what time it is? Hate to tell ya but its time to LET DA DOGS OUT. By the third quarter all of you little injun fans will be running around begging us to lock the dogs up. That was a good idea for Shiner to have parents night tonight because no kid should go through this kind of beating alone. New Post Re: Comanche Moon Tonight!

Comanche Moon

In the late 1800's, Comanche Indians were known to raid frontier settlements by the light of the Comanche Moon. So named by early settlers in pioneer lands, a Comanche moon is a full moon -- allowing night travel -- in the autumn, when the rains have returned, there is grass for the ponies, and the barns are stocked from the harvest.

According to the US Naval Observatory, there will be a Comanche moon rising tonight in Shiner, Lavaca County, Texas (longitude W97.2, latitude N29.4) at 7:45pm.

Fans at Comanche Stadium will see the Comanche Moon slowly rise into the sky behind the visitor's stands ...
