Re: Flatonia @ Shiner
I agree , But Flatonia has something to prove to everyone.I really
can't tell anyone how good they are, bcause of all the district teams
we both play the score has been close to the same comparison. But
Shiner's scores have been just a little better. The other differences
I have noticed is that Shiner's defense and offense has generated
better stat's than Flatonia. But right now Flatonia has the leading
rusher, and passer, and receiver, but they have also been in the game
most of the time.Which Shiner's first team has had limited time on
playing.Their are so many things to look at between these to
teams, that all I can say is it will be answered Friday night at
Comanche stadium. So if you want to see what the outcome , you must
be there to see whose right. GOOD Luck everybody . Oh yeah, my
predication on this one is Shiner by 30 . I don't think Flatonia has
seen a defense like Shiner's yet.

Flatonia @ Shiner
Man, what a week ahead of us!! The preparation started long before
today...it's going to be the most interesting and challenging game
we've seen since Randolph...our boys are ready for it...and our
Seniors are definetly getting pumped. Their last home game on
Comanche Field and Parent's Night...Flatonia, you got your work cut
out for you on this one....I have to agree with Big C Fan..I don't
think they've come up against a defense like ours...I'm picking
Shiner boys by 15...Gonna play it a little safe on this one...GOOD
LUCK COMANCHES!! YOU CONTINUE TO MAKE US PROUD...AND good luck
Flatonia...

I agree, Flatonia wants to prove themselves to everyone in
district. They have not yet been tested and this game will be a
playoff atmosphere. I see Shiner pointing out their weaknesses. This
game will help Flat-town prepare for the playoffs as well as for
Shiner.

Thanks, BigBlue ... best wishes to y'all too. Finish district
strong and we hope see y'all down the road.
I just got back
from the Hallettsville Sacred Heart vs. St. Paul Cardinal game a few
minutes ago (SH won 26-0 for their coach's 200th career victory). No
offense, but neither of those two teams looked tough by UIL 1A
standards.
On Aug 27, Flatonia lost to SH 10-16 ... scoring
10 points in the first quarter and that's it. Two weeks later, they
beat Shiner St. Paul 24-8 ... it was 10-8 until Bulldog best RB
scored two TD's in the fourth quarter.
Sure will give those
Comanches something to think about this week, eh?

Re: Flatonia
Just got back from Friday night lights, the movie at the end
reminded me of our lost to Windthorst last year.I don't know how
many teams have every lost a big game like that at the last seconds
of the game. But I know from experience that this is for sure the
hardest way to lose. When a team gets so close in winning the game,
and then it's lose's because of inches or because you didn't do a
different play that probably would have worked. A person will
alway's wonder if they would have done something different, how
would it have come out.The sad part of this is that a lot of the
teams that end up like this, never get a chance to have a different
outcome.Or the boys that played the game are mostly all seniors and
never get their one chance of being hero's taken from them .But I am
still thank full that we at lease had the chance to be in such a
great game, and all the memories that we got to experience a long
the way. But alway's remember with God's will you may get another
chance in the future to get it right the next time.

No, he's at Clarendon, Coach Doughty is Thorndales new Head Coach.
Coach Jack was a class act, but I honestly think we are a little
better off now, I've been very impressed with the coaching this

Coach Berg, that are new faces, and both seem to be great coaches.

I haven't seen Flatonia play this year, but Shiner's defense looks
a little bit better than last year. Their offense has a ways to go
to reach last year's strength. Being a true blue fan, I hope that
Flatonia has everything working and puts it on Shiner. That would
mean that someone else wins the district championship again this

Hey Big C Fan you think Shiner will beat us by 30? They(Shiner)
have a good defense and offense but they better be on their A game
Friday night because the Dogs are ready. Tomahawk invited the
Flatonia fans to meet at Howards before the game, I would love to do
that but I will be enroute to Shiner from Austin at 6 or 6:30 but I
could see you guys at halftime. Bottom Line its going to be a good
hard hitting game and this is without a doubt the toughest Class A
district in Texas.

Re: Flatonia @ Shiner
I think Shiner's offense is looking better than it was last year.
We actually have a passing game this year. We have so many weapons
on offense this year, you can't key on just one person and expect to
shut us down. The defense has also stepped it up a notch from last
year. The secondary has really been looking good. There are not very
many completions caught against this new secondary, and they have
been tested week in and week out. I'm sure the Dogs will be ready
and will bring their A game to Shiner. Big C Fan, I agree with your
prediction. The Dogs have not seen any competition all year and the
Comanches are going to give them more than they can
handle!

So we have not seen any competition all year right? Some of you
Shiner fans thought Pettus was going to be a good game. Besides
Randolph who have Shiner played? I think that you had to come from
behind to beat them. Flatonia has a running attack, passing attack
and a good defense that will light you up. I don't think Shiner has
faced a defense this physical. Tomahawk I might have to set on
Shiner's side because Flatonia's will be overflowing with fans. I
will look you up at halftime.

Shiner and Flatonia both have great sportsmanship, coached very
well, fans are great and both have a great band. Watching both
Shiner and Flatonia beat Woodsboro pretty bad I am going to have to
go with Shiner by 21 points. No offence to Flantonia because yall
have a great team to, but Shiner is loaded. Good Luck to both teams

Re: Flatonia @ Shiner
This will be a great game Friday night. Looking at the stats over
the last 8 games for both teams, I would say we match up pretty
good. But, the stats don't do us justice because our first team has
not played 4 quarters except in one game all year long.
In
non-district games the stats look like this:
Flatonia - 346
yds total offense avg per game Shiner - 314 yds total offense avg
per game
Flatonia - 224 yds total offense avg
allowed Shiner - 144 yds total offense avg
allowed
Flatonia - 13 points avg allowed Shiner - 9.2
points avg allowed
In District games the stats look like
this:
Flatonia - 408 yds total offense avg per game Shiner
- 307 yds total offense avg per game
Flatonia - 137 yds
total offense avg allowed Shiner - 57 yds total offense avg
allowed
Flatonia - 6.75 points avg allowed Shiner - 1.75
points avg allowed
These stats were taken from the Victoria
Advocate.
Shiner pre-season schedule consisted of 4 2A
schools. One of which was ranked #9 in 2A at the time. Flatonia
pre-season schedule consisted of two local Catholic schools. One of
which upset Flatonia in the season opener 16-10. Shiner and Flatonia
appear to be pretty evenly matched stat-wise. I think it will be a
huge crowd on both sides of the fences. I just hope it is a clean
game with no injuries to either team. Last years score was Shiner 34
Flatonia 9. Both teams lost some great athletes to graduation but
the younger ones have stepped in and have done great jobs replacing
those seniors. Big C Fan, I still agree with your
prediction!

Re: Flatonia @ Shiner
We could have a small crowd and overflow your bleachers. I think
Shiner will win by 70. They have the best defense, the best offense
and Flatonia is going to get third in the district. Flatonia can't
beat FC. Flatonia will have to play their best to beat Pettus. And
now Shiner, man how will Flatonia be able to do it? Like it or not
Shiner, Flatonia has no pressure going into this game!

Shiner v Flatonia
I'm pretty sure Shiner has their work cut out for them, but that's
o.k...we are looking at this one as the beginning of playoff
season...Just like last years game that determined who was going on
and who was going home to start basketball practice...we will
prevail....I havent seen Flatonia play, but I know what Shiner can
do, add in a little friendly rivalry and you got a crowd pleaser. I
will say that reguardless of the outcome, we Comanche fans love our
boys.......They make us proud...on the field and off...

Re:Shiner v Flatonia
I have to agree with several of the postings...Shiner has an
awesome defense...and I, personally, think the offense is having an
awesome season. Our quarterback...may not scramble as much as last
year's...but he can definately pass. With a line like our's...there
will definately be points on our side and not so many on Flatonia's.
I predict that Shiner will prevail...most definately. As for
sportsmanship...I know Shiner has it...but I'm not so sure about
Flatonia. If their attitudes off the field represent their attitudes
on the field...then their sportsmanship is not there. During last
year's playoffs...several of the Bulldogs fans came to some of
Shiner's games...and were very rude to the fans and players...that
includes "boo"ing and turning around holding up the finger to Shiner
fans. That is not sportsmanship...and there is no doubt in my mind
that that is carried on into the game. GOOD LUCK SHINER...OPEN UP A
CAN...CUZ WE ALL KNOW YOU GOT WHAT IT TAKES!!! Flatonia...I take
pity on your boys up against our linemen...the quarterback better
watch out...cuz there are some SACKS waitin' to happen!!! GO

Do not condemn many for the past foolish and immature actions of a
few. Poor sportsmanship should not be condoned by coaches or
administrators and I ASSUME it has been dealt with and is a thing of
the past.

Hey Kidluke I don't know if the Dogs should even bother with going

are lining up to play Southlake Carroll. Hearing of how great there
defense and offense is playing and with Flatonia not playing anyone
all year, I think we should head north and play the Number one team
in the nation. We might do a little better against the Dragons of
Southlake Carroll. If we do decide to play Shiner on Friday and we

You can bury that Comanche wardrobe there. I always carry extra
