Contest Description
The Shiner Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring their 11th Annual "Christmas in Shiner" lighting contest. The deadline to enter is Noon on Friday, December 7, 2007.
There is no charge to enter the contest. Those wishing to enter are required to have either a Shiner phone number or a Shiner address. Judging will take place on December 12, 2007 dusk until approximately 10:30, depending on the number of entries in the contest.
The winner will be announced in the Shiner Gazette the following week. Pictures of the winning displays will be included in the paper.
This year there will be two categories judged, residential and commercial. The judges, who will be from out of town, will be looking at the entry’s overall appearance, uniqueness, creativity and best use of lighting. The judges’ decision is final.
Monetary prizes will be awarded for first through third place in both categories. First place will receive $75, second place $50, and third place $25. Yard plaques will be presented to the first through third place winners for display. The plaques must be returned to the Chamber of Commerce office by January 6, 2008.
The entry form appears below. Entry forms may also be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce office located at 817 North Ave E. Office hours are 9-3 pm. Entries may be mailed or delivered to the Chamber office (mail box on the door at the Chamber Office if we are out). All entries must be received by noon on December 7, 2007.
